eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil" (Ps 36:1-4).</div> <div> In the July/August "Prove All Things" magazine was an article titled "NIMROD RESURRECTED." This article will continue with that theme and bring in another thought from God's word -alerting us to the sign post of Jesus Christ's return. Do you get the feeling when reading the daily news that Oboma is like a new student teacher in a uncontrolled class room in a grammar school? Never able to sit still at his desk to do his class work, or able to teach and speak the truth to his students! Everywhere you look it seems Oboma is engaging in - "On the job training." Unwilling to follow the rules or seek advice from the veteran teachers.</div> <div> In an open letter to President Oboma, Lou Pritchett, a public speaker who is retired after a successful 36 year career as the vice president of world sales for Proctor and Gamble, writes. </div> <div> "Dear president Obama: you are the thirteenth president under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me. You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you. You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive ivy league education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American. You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll. You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core. You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail. You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad. You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector. You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one. You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves. You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world. You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations. You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals. You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people. You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient. You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do. You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaugh's, Hannity's, O'Reilly's and Becks who offer opposing, Conservative points of view. You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing. Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years. Lou Pritchett." </div> <div> Many of us can relate to that letter! So, is this the person of interest Paul speaks about in his letter to the Thessalonians? "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come <U>a falling away </U>first, and that <U>man of sin </U>be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness"(II Thess 2:1-12).</div> <div> Before Christ returns, two events must occur: 1). The falling away. 2). And the revealing of the man of sin. The falling away and the man of sin can relate to a spiritual rebellion against truth or to a political rebellion against authority. "The falling away" is a translation of the Greek --- apostasia, 1). meaning "departure," "forsaking," "defection" or apostasy 2). in secular Greek, the word "is used politically for rebellion." Thayer Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament # (646), denotes a departure or apostasy from - the faith - the revealed truth of God Paul reveals this fact for us: "Now the spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" ( I Timothy 4:1). Such a defection from the true gospel and doctrine was a very real concern for the first-century apostles. Paul, Peter, John, James and Jude all warned on it in their God inspired letters. But despite their warnings, it did indeed occur as the century moved on. Paul tells us specifically in II Thess 2:10, what the "unrighteous deception" was, "because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." And in verse 7, he names it "the mystery of lawlessness" a set of beliefs that is totally contrary to "the truth." In verses 10 thru 12, Paul told us the deception is "the lie" that Satan has from the beginning imposed on mankind. That is, we don't need to obey God's laws. We already know the lie Satan told Eve in the garden of Eden. ".....you shall not surely die" (Gen 3:4). Paul also tell us why we are believing a lie today. "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen"(Rom 1:21-25). In the past few years we too, have faced apostasy. A number of the former brethren in God's Church "are not contending earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3).</div> <div> Many we know have turned their backs on the revealed truths of God and returned to the "traditions of men,"instead of heeding the inspired Word of God. ".... in all his [Paul's] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable twisted, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction" (II Peter 3:16). Paul being aware of the pharisees traditions- advises "Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by [God's] word or our [inspired] epistle" (II Thess 2:15). We should be diligently re-affirming and strengthening the spirit of truth. In this way we will show we love the truth God is teaching us.</div> <div> Notice now this "person of interest" Paul calls- "the man of sin." Paul was well aware that the day of the Lord could not come until certain events have transpired. "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" (II Thess 2:3-4). The son of destruction is another title or description of "The man of sin." Vs. 4, "Who opposes and exalts himself above "All that is called God, or that is worshiped." This is not limited to just the Christian God. That verse says "all that is called god," verse 4 continues, "So that he as god sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." The house of Israel along with the house of Judah and the house of David-represents the temple of God's chosen people. All the tribes of Israel collectively make up the spiritual building where the spiritual temple of God dwells. Our money says "in God we trust." Most of our government building have God's name engraved on them. Paul wrote: "Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwells in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy" (1 Cor 3:16-17). Paul refers to the appearance of any "Person" that is Satanic in origin and is deceptive to the extreme. God will destroy arrogant conceited action like that, Paul points out, "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all receivable-ness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, and that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness"(II Thess 2:9-12). This movement in time with its evil misleading nature is certainly the embodiment of the doctrines of evil thinking Satan. Steve Davis from Journal Gazette said, "Barack's appeal is actually messianic... he ...communicates god- like energy... what if god decided to incarnate as man preaches hope and change -and what if we ,,,,let them slip away not availing ourselves ....to be led by god!" Lynn Sweet, Chicago Sun Times said, "Oboma to me, must be not just an ordinary human being but indeed an advanced soul, come to lead America out of this mess." Ezra Klein --no title said, "He is not the word made flesh [Jesus] but the triumph of word over flesh [better than Jesus ] Oboma is at his best, is able to call us back to our highest selves!" One more before we all get sick, Evan Thomas - editor of Newsweek magazine said on Chris Matthews show, "I mean in a way -Oboma's standing above the country, above the world, he's sort of god." He does not understand the American culture or history. These words make us unique. We are the only country in history that says, "Your personal rights come from God directly to you, the individual, and you loan the government sovereignty."</div> <div> That means if we truly believe that each of us is endowed by our Creator with rights, then we have a deep moral obligation to care for them - after they have been born. These individual rights and individual responsibilities are at the heart of the American system today. We need the understanding what was at Jamestown, America's first permanent settlement. They established the principle, "If you will not work you will not eat," which is a direct command from God's word. "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat" (II Thess 3:10). This was not for the poor that God said would always be with us but it was for the aristocrats who thought they could buy their way out of work. Having a good work ethic and keeping God's laws are at the heart of God's teachings. It is for this reason we must defend America, God's country-against the people like the "man of sin."</div> <div> Looking back into history we witness Thomas Jefferson, and 10 of his insightful statements. "When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe." 2). The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." 3). It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." 4). I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." 5). My reading of history convinces me that most bad governments results from too much government" 6). No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." 7). The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government." 8). The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." 9). To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical." 10). Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." </div> <div> Much of what we just read is under attack from the administration now in power over the United States. Nations, like individuals, are required by our God to conduct their lives in accordance with the principles of righteousness. Righteous individuals are duty bound to obey the Ten Commandments and, equally, the nation must observe the requirements of the laws of God contained in His Statutes. In Moses farewell address to the nation of Israel, Moses listed the blessings and cursing which would accrue to God's people if they would harken diligently to the voice of the Lord their God and obey His commandments. Prosperity and peace were promised to them and the nation would increase in wealth if obeyed. If the enemy ventured to attack, he would be decisively defeated. Then Moses continued to say: "But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee" ( Deut 28:15). </div> <div> Today, the nations of the House of Israel-the Anglo-Saxon people, are literally running the gamut of these national disasters, all because the law of the Lord is not administered in righteousness by their governments. One essential condition in a nation keeping the law of righteousness is that law abiding men be placed in public office to administer the business of their state.</div> <div> Jethro, Moses father in law said: "Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens" (Ex 18:21). We learn from those instructions that first, they are to be "able men," that is, men having the training and ability to perform a trust worthy job. </div> <div> The flair for public speaking which enables a man to launch out upon flights of articulation and great oratory in election campaigns, does not necessarily qualify him to hold a responsible public office. Public servants are to be men who "fear God, men of truth. Men who can pass a test of their Christian character and will not stand before God and their fellow citizens to utter lies and campaign promises they have no intentions of remembering when the election is won. Politicians who succumb to bribery in any degree fall far below God's standards. </div> <div> It is impossible to establish righteousness in a nation without honest, able men-men of truth to govern it. It was the righteous Moses called upon to uphold God's laws when he spoke to the second generation of Israelites about government. "Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon Him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?" (Deut 4:5-8).</div> <div> Isaiah understood the message given by Moses. "Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise" (Isa 60:18). Then he exclaimed, "And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name" (Isa 62:2).</div> <div> The scriptures make it clear that violence and strife will continue to afflict any nation which will not conform to God's laws. Jesus Christ insisted that to be a true disciple-demanded loyalty to the truth, and nothing but the truth, as it was revealed in Him. </div> <div> Truth! The Word required the testimony of two witnesses before they accepted a record as valid, and Jesus claimed to represent the two required witnesses since He was one with the Father in speaking, as well as being. </div> <div> 2), LEARNING DAILY THE TRUTH.</div> <div> "And you shall know the truth." (V 32). Israel professed to know the truth and to be the official exponents of it. They had yet to learn, however, that truth is not only a system of words to memorize, but an encounter with a living person in the Word.</div> <div> We find in God's word the expression of eternal truth. John wrote; "Sanctify them through Your truth: Your word is truth"(John 17:17). If we would fulfill our responsibility as disciples, we must read, learn and meditate upon this His Word. Since truth is essentially moral, and so must be associated with a person, It is necessary that we recognize Christ as TRUTH. When answering Thomas on one occasion He made the claim, "I Am the Truth" (John 14:6).</div> <div> 3), DAILY LIBERTY IN THE TRUTH.</div> <div> "The truth shall make you free" (V 32). Genuine liberty is the crowning evidence that the disciple is fulfilling his responsibility in relation to truth. It is not sufficient merely to learn of the Word of God and the Son of God; such learning must be translated into action. Only by obedience to the truth, as we see it in the Son of God, is there liberty for the disciple of the Lord of Lord's.
