Russell, Elder </div> <bR> <bR> <div> Dear Scattered Brethren and Co-workers, </div> <bR> <div> Greetings! I Pray you had a rewarding Passover along with seven days of Unleavened Bread and are looking forward to Pentecost on May 23, 2010. As the seven step plan of God is on its timely course, are you being more diligent than ever to keep up with watching the events of daily world news as our Lord of Lord and King of kings said in the gospel of Luke, "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (Luke 21:36). </div> <bR> <div> Watching and studying to understand the world views in general, and God's world view in particular, is a real wake up call for everyone! A country looking to promote human rights, including the right to be born and pursue freedom and liberty, with common good must adhere. Human dignity comes from the fact that human beings are created in the image of God, a uniquely biblical perspective. "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them"(Gen 1:27).</div> <bR> <div> Understanding God's life giving ways requires the work of His Holy Spirit. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God"(1 Cor 2:9-12).</div> <bR> <div> Recently going through some old Pastor General's Report was a news article dated December 13, 1985 <I>titled, "On the World scene."</I> It was a warning speech to Britain from Prince Charles. The Warning was, what we are witnessing today in the United States of America. The speech and comments from the reporter went like this, <I>"Prince Charles warned that Britain could end up as a fourth-rate country unless there is a dramatic change in the public attitude toward work and wealth. He said he detected a deep-seated cultural refusal to face plain economic facts, and, true to pattern, the Prince was afterwards attacked in some circles for drawing positive attention to America's recent economic record (the United States has created 13.3 million more jobs in the past 14 years), but his defenders came to his side quickly. Charles is right - - and we'd better listen, headlined the Dec, 3 London Standard. And shortly before, in the Nov, 27</I><FONT SIZE="1" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" ><I>th</I></FONT><I> Daily Mail, journalist Linda Lee Potter wrote a blistering column entitled, "This Land of the Lax and Lazy." </I>The report went on to say,<I>"At times it seems Britain will have to be bankrupt, wrecked and on its knees before any of us stand up and say that we are on a collision course to wrecking our country's economy, independence, strength and morality. We've been brainwashed into believing, in today's Britain, that if you're unemployed you're always a victim, if you're on strike you're always a hero, and if you are black you're always oppressed...... If you're an unmarried mother with four illegitimate children you get a free flat, a salary and nobody asks, don't you think your behavior is irresponsible? But if you speak the truth .... they'll try to destroy you. The paternalistic state has reared a country of scroungers and the workshy who manipulates the system while those genuinely in need and defenseless usually get kicked in the teeth.... This is just a random selection of events that have become commonplace in the Britain of today and we're in danger of becoming so anaesthetized we're no longer shocked, and God help us if we're not...." </I></div> <bR> <div> If we were to replace the Nation of "Britain" in this report with the "United States of America" it would read like it was just written now about the USA. Our third World President is on the loose trying to transform America to be like the Muslim Nations we read and hear of in our news papers and on T.V. His campaign to take God's name in vain by trying to tell all his comrades nations we are not a Judeo-Christian Nation. He and those under him as czar's in the Government are trying to take over every aspect of our freedom and liberty God granted the USA. His goal is to rule us "from the cradle to the grave," that's what he would like to accomplish. Since his election he has been on a spending spree with no end in sight. He has taken over two car companies, a number of Banks, Lending institutes, students school loans programs and just recently Health care. This forced socialist health care will drive up prices for everyone everywhere living in the USA, many Insurance co along with large and small businesses will now find they will have to close their doors, because of not being able to pay the insurance premiums. The United States of America just witnessed DEATH OF FREEDOM! Every thing this third world president has touched has caused our unemployment figures to rise to 15 to 17 million looking for a job. </div> <bR> <div> All these troubling scenarios draws us to conclude-this is the beginning of sorrows [tribulation] we read of in Leviticus 26, and Deuteronomy 28, where the blessings and curses are found. Notice Deuteronomy 1: where God through Moses encourages Israel, " And it shall come to pass, if you shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD your God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if you shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God. Blessed shalt you be in the city, and blessed shalt you be in the field,<B> but</B> it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: The stranger [that cannot show a legal birth certificate] that is within thee [your gates] shall get up above thee very high; and you shalt come down very low" (Deut 28:1-3,15,43). Serious warning! Matthew, Mark, Luke and Revelations in the New Testament signals the sign post leading up to this cursed tribulation we have read about for so long! </div> <bR> <div> Do you think of yourself as a patriot? Right now the USA is a house divided over keeping The Constitution, The Declaration of Independence and The Articles of Confederation. Jesus Christ said "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand" (Matt 12:25). Patriotism means much more than to blindly support the policies of a czar government in opposition to God and His laws. A true patriot is one who, for the love of his country, may find himself in opposition to political forces which have gained control and have the power and authority to act contrary to the ultimate welfare of the country. Jeremiah stood in the position of one who loved his people and his country, yet compelled to oppose the Princes [President], leaders and the people because of their unrighteousness. Because the nation had turned away from God and His law, the prophet had no alternative than to speak as he did. Therefore, the princes said to the king: "We beseech thee, let this man be put to death for thus he weakenedth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare [peace] of this people, but the hurt" (Jer. 38:4).</div> <bR> <div> It appears that these Princes were in complete control of the nation in this crisis, with power to act contrary to the ultimate good of all. Jeremiah, in following God's instruction, was compelled to oppose them for there was to be no peace in his generation. His patriotism, however, gave him a vision of a day that would come when real peace would be the blessing of those unborn generations who, in the far-off future, would heed God's instructions and accept the righteousness of His laws. "Pray thy kingdom come.
