Jesus Christ, The Passover---The Wavesheaf--The Firstfruit
JESUS CHRIST, THE PASSOVER---THE WAVESHEAF--THE FIRSTFRUIT!!
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (1 Cor 15:20)
The Festival Days of God pictures the spiritual plan of salvation that has been prepared for us, from God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. This spiritual plan is one of the mysteries of the Kingdom. This spiritual plan is not for the Israelites only, but for all of mankind. These feast days are to teach us how to obtain salvation and eternal life. God has granted wisdom and understanding through the Holy Spirit to those who have been called, repented of their sins and remain faithful until the return of Jesus Christ. “For He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Rev. 17:14).
CHRIST, THE PASSOVER
We have now been through the first two steps in God's plan of salvation. Passover, Days of Unleavened Bread and looking forward to Pentecost. The questions still being asked--Is the 14th at evening, the time Passover should be killed or is it the afternoon of the 14th when Judaism states the lamb should be killed and eaten on the evening of the 15th of Abib? It seems that after so many years of keeping Passover at the beginning of the 14th as God's word states, there are those who now say we must keep Passover at the end of the 14th because Jesus Christ was crucified on the afternoon of the 14th!
This reasoning is flawed! The Passover is the passing through Egypt and the killing of their firstborn. The Israelites had to have blood on the door post, so they would be protected from the destroyer. It was the blood on the door post that was the sign of protection, NOT the eating of the lamb. “For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. “And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD's Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped. And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle” (Exo. 12:12-13, 22-23,27-THE GREATEST OFFERING EVER MADE WAS THE WILLING OFFERING OF JESUS CHRIST! “FOR BY ONE OFFERING HE HATH PERFECTED FOR EVER THEM THAT ARE SANCTIFIED” Heb 10:14
